What our clients say about us

Contax Netball Club

“We are one of the largest and most recognised Netball Clubs in South Australia with a proud history of success both on and off the courts for many years.  Our club culture has always been a focus for us to ensure our members are engaged in a positive healthy club environment.  We believe our club culture off the court is as important as our on-court success and a major factor in not only our historical success but also our future success.

We have always been proud of our Club’s history, however as time passes and a new younger generation continues to emerge, we had been considering different ways to ensure our legacy and Club Culture would be maintained into future generations. We had the good fortune to meet Steve Newman from One Club Culture, we cannot recommend his services highly enough.  Steve’s background and experience with sporting clubs has been an invaluable asset to our club this year.  He is engaging and takes time to understand your club and provides practical processes in line with our club philosophies.  He guided us through a process from Management level, through coaches and players of how to translate our own Club Culture, identify what was important on and off the field, set clear expectations but more importantly how to engage at all levels of the club to ensure our members all have a clear understanding of our Club Culture and how they could be part of it with their own influence and behaviours.

Clubs and players can make a mistake by simply focusing on On-court success however if your Club Culture is not right or upheld, the greatest successes may never be achieved or maintained.  Success can be measured in many ways within a club community but if your Culture is right in a team sport, success will follow.”

– Lee-Anne Petherick – Club President

Table Tennis SA

“We engaged Steve to run a culture and values session for our impressionable young junior teams and their parents.  Steve was fantastic – he really took the time to understand the needs of the coaching staff when preparing for the sessions as well as taking into consideration the diversity amongst the team members themselves.  As a group, the junior team developed a set of standards and associated values that, as individuals and as team members, we could all understand and implement.  Since the inaugural session, each year, the state teams have revisited the values and behaviours and re-committed to them to the point where the process has been rolled out to all of our state team representatives – from aspiring juniors, para-athletes, youths, seniors and our ever green veterans teams.”

– Paul Langley OLY GAICD: High Performance Director

West Adelaide Football Club SANFLW

“We invited Steve to collaborate with our diverse playing group to lay the foundation and framework of how our team would be seen moving forward and the values, culture and leadership styles we would all live by. Steve’s enthusiasm and passion for helping others to succeed were extremely evident. His preparation and commitment to make sure his time with us would be effective, was outstanding.

He engaged the team and his message complimented perfectly with the type of culture we wanted to create at the club. The whole of the team from coaches to players were provided some useful tools in helping us build a positive team culture where our players overcome doubts and challenges to perform at their potential. Beyond any shadow of a doubt I will work with the One Club Culture program again and recommend their services to any organisation.”

– Shane Moon: West Adelaide SANFLW 2019 Coach
